I am a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) who has dreamt of renovating a home for as long as I can remember. But being a student FOREVER, my husband Jared and I had only rented and were constantly relocating for school. So I became an HGTV addict and lived vicariously through creators on Instagram.
Fast forward to when we purchased our first home. We had tons of renovations to get done and I had no idea what I was doing, but I wanted to dive in headfirst. What better time to start sharing my journey? So, not knowing what the heck I was doing, I started my Instagram page, Florence Revival. And now here we are years later with a community bigger than I could have ever imagined.
Together (with Teddy, our German Shepherd “supervisor”) we’re tackling renovations on our first home, a 1929 Tudor Revival, in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Florence Revival didn’t happen overnight, so here’s a brief recap of how we started our renovation journey, and how Florence Revival came to be!
WE HAVE HAD SO MANY UPS AND DOWNS WITH RENOVATIONS. THE MANY STRETCHING MOMENTS HAVE TAUGHT US SO MUCH AND MADE US WANT TO LEARN EVEN MORE!
Want to eat some chips? Listen to good music? Watch me do some renovation work? Some projects I show in a timelapse so I can listen to my favorite murder podcast and you can listen to some of my favorite tunes. Sometimes I show tasks in real time so you get to enjoy every tedious second – because we’re in this together.
Ready to jump into my DMs with some inside jokes? Prepared to be influenced to buy my all-time favorite sweatpants? You’re in the right place – let’s get to it!
When I was a kid, I gave my numbers personalities, and genders. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized this was not common.
I have Ordinal Linguistic Personification.
Sometimes I have full-on conversations with Jared and don't remember any of it. It is usually after eating Taco Bell.
I talk in my sleep.
Because it's just clutter to me. BUT I will break this rule for a cool coffee mug.
I refuse to collect things.
