Our living room decor has been a work in progress for so long, and I’m constantly tweaking it to make it more “us”. I don’t know if it will ever be *done*, but this page includes all of the sources for what our living room is right now – full of neutral comfortable tones, and always ready for binging the Great British Baking Show.
Some of the links on my website are affiliate links. That simply means that if you purchase items through my links, I may receive a small commission from the company at no cost to you.
The whole room is painted Greek Villa by Sherwin Williams, and the trim is Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams. Both are color matched by Behr (flat).
Our couch is the IKEA Farlov, and we had a cover made by Bemz. Unfortunately, IKEA discontinued the Farlov, but this couch is similar.
We have a lot of alternative seating options since Teddy generally claims the sofa, and we love these white accent chairs. These leather sling ottomans and our white ottomans are great for extra guests. I found two similar styles here and here since my white ones aren’t sold anymore.
Obviously, we can’t have a cozy living room without lots of pillows. It’s surprisingly hard to find pillows I like, so I made a list of great living room pillows.
If you’ve been around for a while, you know that we refinished these oak floors ourselves. We tested lots of sealers, and chose Bona Nordic Seal. I layered two rugs, with this jute one on the bottom, and this ink/salmon Loloi one on the top. Keeping the house clean starts by catching as much dirt as possible, so we have this seagrass rug right inside the door.
The curtains we love are actually white IKEA curtains that I pleated. We hung them on black curtain rods – these come in lots of sizes to fit almost any window. And for extra privacy, we use these light-filtering roller shades. These keep the living room light and airy.
As you know, lighting can (and will) make or break any space. In addition to can lights, we have a large black chandelier, and two sconces to the sides of the fireplace. Never neglect a table lamp and floor lamp for late-night reading.
Our fireplace isn’t safe to burn wood, so we added an electric firebox that we love. We placed a black and white print of a bird (similar) on top of the mantle, along with a plant, candle, some books, and candle holders.
We use a sideboard for our tv wall – it creates lots of storage space for games and tv components. Here’s a tv and coffee table that are similar to ours, and we love this console table beside our front door.
Jared has a TON of books, and I love how they look, so I display them using these very simple white bookshelves. You can install them in many configurations, and when you add books, they almost look like they’re floating.
Our huge picture frames are showstoppers. The huge white mats are the perfect surround for either black-and-white images or family portraits. We have lots of cozy blankets for all of the snuggles. Baskets like this one are fantastic whether you’re corraling/ blankets, computer cords, books, or kids’ toys!
I’m a big fan of buying classic items that can go in many rooms in your home and will fit all seasons. I hope these living room sources help you to find more classy basics for your own home!

[…] We have a full length mirror in here (mirrors aren’t just for bedrooms and bathrooms, guys). A cushioned bench grounds the huge photo frame wall. We continued our favorite roller shades and curtains from the living room – more curtain details are listed here. […]
